Wishingwell is een label dat is opgericht door Martine Brodelet.
In haar atelier in Gent, waar ze werkt en woont, maakt ze haar illustraties met zorg en aandacht voor elk detail in het proces. Ze tekent niet alleen, maar volgt het hele drukproces consciëntieus op. Het merk ademt een tedere en nostalgische sfeer uit, soms met een kleine ondeugende knipoog.
De tederheid en de warme kleuren maken de illustraties ook bijzonder geschikt als geboortekaartjes. Het alfabet, de tekening rond elke letter, wordt opgebouwd op een associatieve manier. De figuren zijn realistisch afgebeeld maar de compositie is formeel en doet denken aan de letters uit de middeleeuwse wiegendrukken. Martine houdt van aquarelleren, en toont veel ervaring en techniek. Van opleiding en beroep is ze restauratrice, gespecialiseerd in 14de-15de eeuwse panelen.

Wishingwell is a luxury card brand that was launched by Martine Brodelet in the summer of 2015.
In her design studio in Ghent, where she lives and works, she makes her illustrations with care and attention at every stage of the process. She draws and follows the whole printing process with incredible care. The brand breathes a tender and nostalgic atmospere, sometimes with a small naughty twist. The tenderness and the warm colours make the illustrations very suitable for birth cards. The illustration around each letter of the alfabeth is built up by association. Martine loves water colouring, and she shows a great deal of experience and technique. She is a trained as a restorer, specialising in 14th and 15th century panels. The drawings are realistic but the composition is formal with an echo of the letters in medieval incunabula.
